I’m guessing I’ve had too much champagne to type for my blog. Oh well. The problem with being your own boss is you just do whaever you feel like doing.
This is a picture of some butter my dad made. You’ll understand when you get to the end of this post.
I’m sitting here, wondering if […]

Here’s the view out my bedroom window when I woke up this morning. When did the leaves go yellow?
I have not slowed down to notice these things lately. I’ve been pushing so hard with work that I’ve been rushing meals, rushing past friends, yelling, “Sorry, I don’t have time,” rushing past beautiful sunsets, rushing tuck-ins […]

There’s a ballpark near our house, and if you go early enough on weekdays, you can bend the rules a little.
My boys ride their bikes to every exit and shut the gates.
Then we let our dogs run at full speed. We give Jack a head start because Steve, our greyhound, is super fast.

Most of my regulars know I’m married to a costume designer. My youngest son always loved the idea of costumes, and for years, changed outfits several times a day. Here is an example of one of my son’s designs: a lovely number, featuring a painted jacket, tape measure, cowboy boots, and gladiator helmet.

Before you read my blog today, please go visit Tommy Kane. It’s okay. I always go to his site before I come here, so you can, too.
Did you like it? My favorite thing about my friends is when they don’t filter themselves. I like to see the Id, the stream of consciousness. I like to […]

I’ve got a deadline to make, so this will be a quick wrap. My answers to this week’s questions concerning the elementary school days….
What toys did you play with?
I searched but found NO photos of the awesome toy known as Wacky Clackers, so I tried to draw it for you.
What games did you play?
I loved […]

My mom recently sent me an email with the title, Love. It contained only these words and a picture of my father: We’ve brought Cosimo home to die. He has an incurable tumor near his tail. Daddy can’t let him go yet. He says he still purrs and likes getting brushed. […]

I don’t have a tattoo. My generation was less about tattoos and body piercings and more about unflattering clothes. If I’d been born ten years later, I’m certain I’d have a band’s name or a boyfriend’s name inked somewhere on my body, and I’d be considering laser surgery to take it off.
Ink is only one […]

Welcome back to LitPark! And thanks for telling me your stories of burial grounds and yard sales and cattle drives and relocations and film making and book editing and guitar lessons and car shows and all of the many things you did over the summer that make you so interesting to me.
A lot of people […]

Steve the dog on summer vacation.
LitPark goes on summer vacation beginning today, and I have a few things to wrap up before my link-to-Tommy-Kane contest winner, Laura Benedict, gets a moment to shine.
Some interesting end-of-the-season stats: The single […]
